MANCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL WEST

Course Expectations

Dear Parents,

Success in this year's math course will enable your son or daughter to go on to the other academic mathematics courses needed for higher education and promising careers. Today, a good mathematics background is needed for the best positions in nearly every field.

In math, each new idea builds upon previously learned ideas. Therefore, students cannot afford to fall behind. Homework exercises are assigned nearly every day. Students are encouraged to complete their mathematics homework so they can seek help if necessary. Students should have a place to study that is quiet and free from distractions.

Parents are encouraged to keep track of how well their children are doing on homework and on test. If you have any questions about your son's or daughter's progress in math, call me at school. Since I am usually in class, please leave your name, the students name, your phone number, and the time when you can be reached. Then I will return your call.

Your interest and support are extremely helpful. Students do best when they, their parents, and their teacher have high but realistic expectations. Let us loook forward to a year in which your son or daughter will have a successful experience in math that will contribute to a promising future.

Yours sincerely

Mr. Raymond Bouchard
