  2. COURSE DESCRIPTION:

    The student is introduced to a variety of techniques in painting, the study of color, form and aspects of pictorial composition. The student will be able to develop and increase creative expression through the variety of painting media and styles learned in this course. Included mediums are tempera, watercolors, gouache, acrylic, and mixed media. Weekly homework assignments researching famous painters, as well as semester research papers and outside semester assignments of reproducing a famous painting are required. All units covered will include written and sometimes practical tests.
