The West High School Endowment Fund Board of Directors envisions an educational community
that is committed to developing the mind, body and spirit of each student and fostering an
environment which prepares each one to meet life's challenges. A generous community of
active students, teachers, parents and alumni will assure the enhancement of educational
opportunities such as:
- Career Counseling
- Tutorial Programs
- Technology-Based Learning Center
- Leadership Development
- Character Education Programs
- Student Development Scholarships
- Visiting Artists Programs
The West High School Endowment Fund has been established as a not-for-profit, tax exempt
community corporation. The fund will serve as a vehicle for businesses and individuals who
wish to make directed gifts to West High School for the purpose of enhancing its educational
programs by providing resources above and beyond the current school district's operating
budget.

I am pleased and honored to have been asked to lead the West High School Endowment Fund
Board of Directors.
All of us have our own special memories of West High. In my case, it was the principal
of the time--Kenrick Bean. Mr. Bean saw some potential in a young girl with immigrant
parents. While at the time the future of a young girl with my background was with
the local mills, Mr. Bean thought otherwise and interceded with my parents to enable
me to finish high school and go on to college. As a result, I feel a special
responsibility to ensure that today's teenagers have the opportunity to have their
positive experiences with the Kenrick Beans of today.
All of us have our personal bittersweet memories of the teenage years. I believe in
retrospect we would all agree that, in many ways, they were the most important years of
our lives. While we cannot ensure the success of every teenager in the world, we can
contribute to the environment that fosters success for our teenage successors at West High.
We envision the Endowment Fund as an ongoing, institutionalized way for former students
and others who support our alma mater, to ensure a quality education and a supportive
environment for academic and personal growth.
Please support the West High School Endowment Fund in any way you possibly can.
Together we can make a difference.

I am very proud to announce the formation of the West High School Endowment Fund. Under the
able leadership of Claira Pirozzi Monier '58 and a distinguished Board of Directors, I am
convinced that with your generosity, our school will be in a unique position to provide
enhanced educational opportunities for future generations of students who will go on to
distinguish themselves in various walks of life.
The future looks bright indeed for Manchester High School WEST. As we welcome a new
group of students each year, we will be able to tell them that their alma mater will
continue to lead the way down the road to excellence. Nine (9) Notre Dame Avenue continues
to be a place where dreams can come true and a place where students from all walks of
life become part of a caring school community which will help them achieve their goals.
Some things have not changed since our school opened its doors in 1922!
Your support of the West High School Endowment Fund shall ensure a bright future for
our school as we build upon a solid foundation. Though your generous contributions,
this public school shall continue to give our community the doctors, the engineers, the
scientists, the lawyers, the ministers, the teachers, the mothers, the fathers, the thinkers,
the builders and the dreamers. We will give our community the future.
Thank you for being our "cherished friends."

For many years, endowment funds have supported private schools, colleges and universities.
Recently, public schools across the country have established endowment funds to provide
opportunities beyond the normal operating budgets of the schools. The West High School
Endowment Fund is a well managed, tax-exempt entity that affords donors the benefit of
making tax-deductible gifts which will enhance the educational program at Manchester High
School WEST. The funds will be managed by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation in
Concord, N.H. and will be administered by the West High School Endowment Fund
Board of Directors.
